Description

Maree is the second album by Filippo Sala, once again created in close collaboration with Enrico Terragnoli and Danilo Gallo. It continues the musical path opened in 2023 with the trio’s first release, Rifugi (Aut Records).

Composed in the autumn of 2024 and recorded in June 2025, the album draws inspiration from the oscillating movement of the tides. This natural phenomenon becomes a metaphor for a dynamic and multifaceted music whose elastic character is expressed through a fluid and evolving musical flow.

Across ten compositions, the music unfolds like a continuous sonic tide: it slowly rises, gathers energy, then recedes, at times settling into moments of suspension, at others breaking with full intensity. The result is an album with a shifting, undulating motion, rich in atmosphere and suggestion.

The deep interplay between the three musicians generates a sound marked by a wide palette of timbral colors. These textures help shape a music that evokes images and encourages an open, imaginative form of listening. The compositional variety remains balanced with the trio’s solo moments, which never appear as ends in themselves but always serve the broader musical design, acting either as contrast or affirmation within the collective narrative.

The result is a warm, cohesive, and expressive sound world that moves freely between structure and spontaneity.
