Description
The project DUAL began with a recording session at Underpool Studios in Barcelona, initiated by pianist and synthesizer player Tomàs Becket together with vocalist Jordi Rabascall and drummer/percussionist Joao Vieira. What started as an encounter in improvised music gradually took shape as Iniciació al moviment, an album rooted in collective listening, physical energy, and the search for unstable forms.
The trio brings together three musicians whose work moves across the porous borders between sound, body, image, and space. Rabascall’s voice and effects, Becket’s piano and synthesizer, and Vieira’s drums and percussion act as shifting materials within a shared process, opening the music to gesture, texture, and transformation.
In Iniciació al moviment, improvisation becomes a way of entering movement. The music unfolds through organic and liquid spaces, at times dense and jungle-like, at times fragile and suspended. It suggests landscapes rather than describing them, moving between the earthly and the cosmic, the human and the elemental.
