NAOM comes to life from questions born out of our human presence in contemporary society, searching for our cultural and musical roots: if these, for us, are partly identifiable in Western culture, what is our relationships with more distant experiences, both chronologically and geographically?
Thus, this journey is not just limited to our personal experiences, but intersects in ways in which we stand in relation to our history and to our connection to “other” cultures.
RADICI’s pieces employ structures and approaches inferred from the rhythmic language of Konnakkol, embrace different forms of improvisation along with Western contemporary classical music concepts, curating a sense of responsibility, awareness and respect for traditions, but with an attitude of experimentation. It cumulates in a quest for conscious dialogue, that connects to a deep feeling of living in the present, here and now.
