Description
Chaosmose is a musical project created by baritone saxophonist Ivan Pilat, inspired by the philosophical visions of Félix Guattari. Conceived as a space for sonic and conceptual experimentation, the project has gone through various phases and line-ups, eventually evolving into its current trio format, featuring trombonist Tony Costantini and drummer Riccardo Zorzi.
Chaosmose’s sound develops through an oblique and unpredictable musical practice, where sonic syntax regenerates from moment to moment. The ensemble rejects any form of hollow aestheticism or self-satisfied hermeticism, embracing an expressive gesture that is authentic and necessary, rooted in existential and political urgency. Music becomes a mutant logogenesis here: a creation that breaks forms to generate new possibilities of listening and thinking.
The stylistic identity of Chaosmose is based on a personal combination of languages: composed music, free improvisation, graphic scores, and conduction blend into a continuous flow, balancing between structural rigor and anarchic impulse. It’s a close-hauled crossing through a dense, pulsating sonic sea in constant transformation.
