Description
Embroidered Time brings together Australian saxophonist Andrej Thompson and Italian pianist Piergiorgio Pirro in an exploratory duo moving between improvised music and contemporary composition.
Through a fluid interplay of composed structures and improvisation, the album develops a nuanced language shaped by personal experience, artistic influences, and reflections on transformation, identity, memory, belonging, and displacement.
Drawing on sources ranging from Toru Takemitsu to free jazz, Thompson and Pirro approach these themes not as fixed narratives but as shifting states: moments in which form, perception, and identity are constantly being redefined. The result is a music of tension and suspension, where intimacy and historical awareness coexist within a highly open and responsive dialogue.
