Description
For Psoas trio, music functions as a vital form of self-care, both physical and spiritual. That underlying tension informs Satori, a set of nine original compositions developed over the course of two years.
Taking its title from the Zen Buddhist term for a sudden moment of awakening, the album reflects a phase of growing compositional complexity and variety, while remaining grounded in the elements that define the trio’s language most clearly: a marked melodic focus, a risk-taking attitude, and a constant search for balance and interplay.
Within the essential format of guitar, saxophone and drums, Psoas shape a sound that is agile, open and sharply responsive, capable of moving between structure and freedom without settling into fixed oppositions.
