Description

Recorded live in a single take, Tatzlwurm documents a session of pure acoustic improvisation, free of overdubs or studio manipulation. Conceived as an “acrostic album”, the initials of the nine tracks spell out the title, invoking the mythic Alpine creature that gives the record its name.

The music unfolds as a collective “symposium” between three distinct voices: Antonio Bertoni shapes the rhythmic and structural core through cello and African string instruments (guembri, bolon); Massimo De Mattia introduces tension and rupture with urgent, incisive flute gestures; Stefano Leonardi acts as a narrative guide, weaving together ancient timbres and contemporary techniques across a wide range of winds.

Tatzlwurm becomes a sonic passage where memory and imagination intersect — an attentive listening to the unknown, where form emerges from what is usually feared rather than mastered.
