Description
Verso is a project born from the musical encounter between Marta Frigo and Diego Albini, developed through years of steady collaboration.
Verso is an Italian word that evokes different meanings. In literature, it refers to a single line of a poetic composition, characterized by rhythm and often by a specific meter.
It can also indicate a direction or a movement oriented toward a certain point in space or time. Lastly it is also a word used to identify sound.
The project merges all these meanings: it is words and sounds that move forwards through space and time.
Echoes Of Remembered Things is their debut album, in which they are joined by Francesco Bigoni, one of the most versatile and proficient European musicians.
The musicians propose original compositions (except “Mode VI” by Paul Motian, which features original lyrics by Marta Frigo) where voice, piano and clarinet/saxophone interact on an equal footing with a focus on the construction of impressionistic soundscapes.
