RICCARDO GROSSO (Caltagirone, 1990) is an Italian double bassist and electric bassist active in the jazz scene. He began studying electric bass at the age of 14, later turning to the double bass under the guidance of maestro Nello Nicotra. At the same time, he deepened his knowledge of jazz double bass at the C.E.S.M. Music Academy in Catania.

In 2010 he moved to Rome, where he continued his musical training at some of the city’s most prestigious institutions, including Percento Musica Academy and the Saint Louis College of Music, as well as other specialized academies. In this context, he studied with leading figures of the Italian jazz scene such as Marco Siniscalco, Massimo Moriconi, and Andrea Avena, developing a personal, solid, and versatile musical language.

Alongside his studies, he has been actively involved in the Roman music scene, performing in numerous settings and taking part in masterclasses and seminars throughout Italy. He graduated in Jazz Electric Bass from the “P. I. Tchaikovsky” Conservatory under the guidance of maestro Antonio De Luise. Over the course of his career, he has collaborated with prominent national and international musicians, including Andy Sheppard, Michael Moore, Stjepko Gut, Domenico Caliri, Fabrizio Puglisi, Dino Rubino, Francesco Cafiso, Carlo Cattano, and Stefano Di Battista, establishing a recognized artistic presence marked by expressive maturity and stylistic versatility.
