Jazz drummer and improviser MATHEO CIESLA’s interests lie in musical creation and research in sound textures. He is a sideman in numerous projects in Lyon, including the Amin Al Aiedy quartet (middle-eastern jazz), the Victoria Alexanyan quintet (armenian jazz), Dragon Flowers (chinese/jazz bal folk) and is also a co-composer in the quartet Bitter Blaze (litterature-savvy modern jazz).

Matheo is specifically interested in the aspect of noise in his instrument, which he was able to explore with Loïc Del Monte’s Moisture III project, as well as Rose Dehors and Paolo Rezze, with whom he developed his approach to the subversion of objects, experimental free jazz and noise music. This taste for research leads him to further experimenting through solo projects.
