JOSÉPHINE BESANÇON is a multifaceted musician invested in a variety of repertoires. Since studying the clarinet and bass clarinet at the Paris National Conservatoire, she has indeed been involved in many different projects, ranging from contemporary music ensembles (le Balcon, Ensemble Miroirs Étendus, Ensemble Maja, Ensemble Écoute, Lemanic Modern Ensemble…) to classical ensembles (Symphonie de Poche, Festival Côté Cour, les Fieffés Musiciens) and individual creation projects (Ensemble Godot with Roberto Negro, The Curing Line by Michael Gallen), making for a great diversity of musical endeavours. She is also active in smaller-sized chamber music groups such as the bass clarinet duet BÖÂ TÛRBÖ, founded with Laurent Vichard in 2025.

In 2022 she founded la Compagnie des Fantasques, in Lyon, specialising in musical theater. In parallel she studied jazz at the École Nationale de Musique (ENM) in Villeurbanne, graduating in 2025. FELSENMEER was created in July 2024, selected among the beneficiaries of the 2025 and 2026 editions of Jazz Migration programme and won first prize in the Jazz au Sommet festival competition in February 2026.
