FANNY BOUTEILLER is a double-bass player based in the Rhône-Alpes region. She trained in jazz double-bass with Jérome Regard at the Lyon Regional Conservatoire and in the classical instrument with Jérome Bertrand at Saint-Etienne. She is now very active in the Lyon improvisation scene, playing as a side musician in various projects, including the Leo Geller quartet (First Prize in the 2023 Jazz Contreband competition), FELSENMEER (2025 winners of the Jazz Migration festival competition), and organises jazz jam sessions in the cultural bar La Pente. In 2025, she founded the collective Incandescente with Juliette Spano to offer safe spaces for gender minorities to meet and jam together. In the same spirit of fighting gender inequality, she has been running dedicated local events in the region with JazzRa.
