Guitarist, composer and arranger, Massimo Betti holds a Second-Level Academic Diploma in Jazz Music from the Conservatory of Como. He studied with Roberto Cecchetto and Paolo Silvestri, attended improvisation courses with Ramberto Ciammarughi, and completed studies in experimental composition at the Scuola Civica di Milano with M° Carlo Pessina.

His artistic formation includes masterclasses and seminars with leading figures of the Italian and international jazz scene, including Tiziano Tononi, Stefano Battaglia, Giancarlo Schiaffini, Sandro Gibellini, Andrea Dulbecco and Tommaso Lama.

Active across contemporary jazz, improvised music and interdisciplinary contexts, Betti is involved in a range of ensembles and collaborative projects. His discography includes *Worn* with Bleach 4tet (Bunch Records), *Call to the Planets, Response from the Stars* (Bunch Records), and *Pictures Vol. 1* with Pictures Trio. In the rock and experimental field, he collaborates with Fausto Rossi, also known as Faust’O, appearing on *Becoming Visible* and *Below the Line* (Interbeat Records).

He has performed and recorded with numerous artists, including Raffaele Romano, Eloisa Manera, Massimiliano Milesi, Dudù Kouatè, Alberto Mandarini, Raoul Moretti, Sara Calvanelli, Marco Bianchi, Davide Vendramin, Filippo Valnegri, Riccardo Chiaberta, Stefano Zambon and Gionata Giardina, among others.

Since 2002, Betti has been active in theatre music as composer, arranger and guitarist, collaborating with directors and companies such as Serena Sinigaglia, Arianna Scommegna, ATIR Teatro Ringhiera, Piccolo Teatro di Milano, Roberta Lidia De Stefano, Compagnia Dionisi, Teatro Gerolamo, Matè Teatro, Teatro In-Folio, Cooperativa Estia, Campo Teatrale and Teatro Sociale di Como.

His theatre work includes productions such as *Troiane*, directed by Serena Sinigaglia and winner of the Hystrio Award for Best Production in 2005, presented in major European cities including Milan, Rome, Prague, Berlin, Vienna and Salzburg. He also worked on *Draw Not War*, a documentary project directed by Matteo Valenti and selected by international film festivals in Orlando, Los Angeles, New York, India, Jakarta and Weimar.

He is also active as a music educator, teaching instrument, theory and harmony.
