Michele Bondesan studied at the Siena Jazz Foundation with Silvia Bolognesi, also taking part in several editions of the Summer Seminars (Paolino Dalla Porta, Furio Di Castri, Anders Jeormin, Omer Avital, Matt Penmann).
He obtains a second-level degree in classical double bass at the ISSM “Peri – Merulo” in Reggio Emilia with M. Amerigo Bernardi, studying also with Alberto Bocini, Giuseppe Ettorre, Antonio Sciancalepore.
In 2021/22 he attends the Master of the second level of artistic research in music “AReMus – Art Research in Music” at the Conservatory “S. Cecilia” in Rome with a project on trans-disciplinary improvisation.
He performs with various youth and professional ensembles and orchestras: Orchestra Giovanile Italiana, Orchestra del Teatro Olimpico di Vicenza (1st double bass), Orchestra dell’Accademia della Scala (1st double bass and concertino, biennium 2020/21), Orchestra Toscana dei Conservatori, Orchestra Regionale Toscana, Orchestra Senzaspine, Ensemble Bernasconi, Icarus Ensemble.
In the field of jazz and improvisation, he performs in numerous festivals and reviews with: Fabbrica5 (awarded at the national Conad Jazz Contest of Umbria Jazz), with whom he records and releases the album Fabbrica5 (a Simple Lunch Records, 2016); BlueRing Orchestra, with whom he records the album Bluering – Vol. I (Rudi Records 2018); Brotherhood (duo with brother Tobia), with whom he records Oak (Aut Records 2019) and River Stone (forthcoming, 2021); BlueRing Ensemble, with the collaboration of Giancarlo Schiaffini and Silvia Bolognesi, with whom he records Materia, (Aut Records 2020); Giancarlo Tossani’s Big Monitors, with whom he records the album Knotes and Notes (Auand, 2021); BlueRing Underwood, with whom he records Underwood (forthcoming, 2022); Katharsis, with whom he records his debut album in 2021 (forthcoming).
He collaborates with: Giancarlo Schiaffini, Gabriele Mitelli, Tobia Bondesan, Giuseppe Sardina, Andrea Grillini, Silvia Bolognesi, Giancarlo Tossani, Francesco Orio, Fabrizio Puglisi, Emanuele Parrini, Luca Perciballi, Alessandro Giachero, Achille Succi and many others.
He is one of the artistic directors of BlueRing-Improvisers, a collective and association of musicians dedicated to improvisation and research music that combines concert activity with record production and numerous educational activities in the form of artistic residencies and workshops (some of which held as a teacher). Since 2017 he organizes an artistic director and teacher “ISAR – ImproSummerArtistResidency”, an artistic residency focused on research music and transmedia interaction.
Since 2021 he is the artistic director of the Now Music Festival, a concert event focused on improvisation and research music at which some of the most important Italian musicians on the international level have performed (Marco Colonna, Silvia Bolognesi, Roberto Dani, Giancarlo Schiaffini, Errico De Fabritiis, Luca Tilli, Emanuele Parrini, Roberto Bellatalla, and others).
