François Ndayambaje

François Ndayambaje was born in Beira, Mozambique, on February 23, 1998, to a Rwandan father and an Italian mother. He moved with his family almost immediately to L’Aquila, where he lived until the age of 20. In 2018 he relocated to Bologna and began his music studies by enrolling at the G.B. Martini Conservatory, where he completed a first-level degree in Jazz Guitar in 2022. He then enrolled at the Frescobaldi Conservatory in Ferrara to pursue a second-level degree in the same field, completing his studies with top marks. He is involved in various projects under his own name as well as in long-term collaborations with different ensembles.
His main project is NDAYA GROUP, of which he is the leader, composer, and arranger. Among his collaborations, he notably works with the MAGNOLIA TRIO (with whom he appeared as a guest on the Rai 1 television program “Il Caffè”) and with singer Synne Bergem Lia, with whom he performs in Norway and Italy. A versatile and creative guitarist, he brings his own expressiveness and distinctive sound, adapting to a wide range of musical contexts.
