Daniel Meyer

Daniel Meyer was born in 1979 and grew up in Visbek (Lower Saxony). After early experiments with sound and his first composition for plastic drums and children’s harmonica at the age of 7, Daniel began playing the guitar at the age of 10. He later studied jazz guitar in Bremen, among others with Andreas Wahl and Detlef Beier.
Daniel Meyer lives in Berlin.

As a guitarist and composer, he works with a wide variety of musicians and artists. These include and have included the Composers Orchestra conducted by Hazel Leach, Sebastian Deufel in the project ‘Berliner Miniaturen & postgermanische Tänze’ , Almut Schlichting, Jacobien Vlasman, the trio ‘TOIY’ with Tobias Schirmer and Finlay Panter, Sofia Borges, Almut Kühne, Michele Pedrazzi in ‘COUP COUP’ and the Danish artist Marie Dahl.

Since 1996, Daniel Meyer has been performing live with various national and international musicians, giving concerts and touring throughout Germany and Europe, both as a conductor and composer, as well as a guitarist and sound designer. In addition, he has released various recordings in a wide range of genres, including jazz, indie, noise, rock and pop.
