Improviser, composer and performer, he uses various traditional, self-built instruments and electronics. Born in 1977, he studied double bass at the Piacenza conservatory with Leonardo Colonna and Attilio Zanchi, piano with Umberto Petrin. He also studied tabla and Hindustani music with Pritam Singh at the Ravi music college in Birmingham. He explored some African traditions with Omar Hayat (Morocco), Dramane Konate (Burkina Faso) and Joe Legwabe (South Africa). He collaborates with theatre, dance, cinema and performance art as a composer, performer and technical consultant or inventor.
He has published as a soloist and with various bands on major record labels such as Astral Spirits (US), Leo Records (UK), Important Records (US), Superpang (IT), Boring Machines (IT) and with his own Loup Editions. He also produces music using the pseudonym Ongon.
